Nominated to Dong A University for an exchange program, five students from Ensait University, Lille (France) have spent four months studying, researching, and exploring Vietnamese culture.
At the end of January 2024, Dong A University welcomed five students majoring in Textile Engineering and High Fashion Industry from Ensait University, Lille (France) to study at the International Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (IAD).
This is the second group of students participating in the exchange program at the IAD. Previously, in 2023, three students took part and had fascinating experiences in Da Nang.
All five girls—Victoire Barchemin, Apsara Chea, Thelma Dominici, Eugénie Duffaut, and Emma Tronel—had a memorable exchange semester at Dong A University. Their experiences in the learning environment and life in Da Nang not only created beautiful memories but also helped them grow and improve themselves.
An Ideal Place to Experience an International Learning Environment
Sharing their feelings from the moment they began studying and researching in Vietnam, each girl expressed happiness and honor at the warm welcome from Dong A University. The friendliness and enthusiasm of the faculty and students at Dong A University helped the French students quickly adapt to their new environment. Additionally, the school's facilities for learning and research made studying more convenient.
Every day at school, the French students receive attentive guidance from the faculty at the International Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. In particular, they can feel the dynamic atmosphere created by both the instructors and students.
In addition to focused research sessions at the Institute, the five girls also participated in classes with fashion design students, allowing them to meet, exchange knowledge, and practice languages with Dong A University students. This experience helped the international students feel comfortable and at ease during their studies at Dong A University.
An Ideal Place for Learning and Research Development
While researching the topic “How Chat GPT is Applied in Fashion,” similar to the previous cohort, this group of students focused on applications in marketing activities. At the IAD, they were guided on how to use AI knowledge platforms to carry out this project.
After their research process, they concluded: “AI can operate across many services, showcasing significant potential, including: reducing costs, greatly aiding production, increasing efficiency in marketing and customer service, etc. This makes it an essential tool for modern fashion professionals.”
It is known that the group of French students presented their findings before concluding their semester at Dong A University. They also shared that during the research process, they developed many soft skills and learned new, useful skills related to artificial intelligence and data science. Notably, during their project survey, they had the opportunity to experience many new things.
An Ideal Place for Experiences and Cultural Exploration
In addition to focusing on their research, the French students participated in extracurricular activities with Dong A University students. Volunteers from various fields became companions in their journey to explore Vietnamese culture—a country that the international friends chose as a culturally diverse destination.
From the very first days in Da Nang, coinciding with the Tet holiday, the international students were able to strongly feel the festive atmosphere of Vietnamese New Year. This experience allowed them to gain a genuine appreciation for the country, its people, and its culture.
Therefore, in addition to exploring the scenic spots in Da Nang, the French students took the opportunity to experience Vietnamese cultural life at various other tourist destinations such as Ninh Binh and Sa Pa.
"We can say that choosing to participate in the exchange program at Dong A University was a wise decision. We sincerely hope to have the opportunity to return to Dong A University once again."
During a working visit to Dong A University in March 2024, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Kim Phuc, a senior lecturer and researcher at Lille University, stated: “Earlier this year, Lille University received many applications for the selection interview for students to come to Dong A University as part of the exchange program in 2025.”
In recent years, Dong A University has actively promoted international student exchanges with countries such as South Korea, Japan, France, and Taiwan. Additionally, Dong A University continuously creates opportunities for its students to study, research, intern, and work with partner universities and businesses in various countries.
