In a week filled with excitement and intense competition, the 2023 2nd "Da Nang Youth" Volleyball Tournament has officially crowned its champions. The Dong A University team exhibited exceptional prowess, securing the coveted top spot in the Women's Youth Volleyball event.
The "Da Nang Youth" volleyball tournament, now in its second year, took place from November 11 to November 18, 2023. Organized by the Community Volleyball Club in partnership with the Youth Union, Student Association, and Da Nang Youth Union, the event drew over 300 athletes from 20 teams. The competition featured two enthralling categories: men's youth volleyball and women's youth volleyball, with six groups each showcasing spirited matches.
Following a thrilling week of fierce competition, the outstanding achievers in both individual and team categories were unveiled and honored during the closing ceremony on November 18th. The Women's Youth Volleyball category witnessed Dong A University's volleyball team rightfully claiming the championship title. The second prize went to the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy at Da Nang University, while Duy Tan University clinched the third spot, and Tran Dai Nghia Secondary School received the well-deserved consolation prize.
Adding to the commendable efforts, the boys from UDA secured the final Consolation prize in the Youth Volleyball event. The championship in this category was claimed by the Da Nang City Police, showcasing an impressive performance.
Furthermore, individual excellence didn’t go unnoticed, as the Organizing Committee bestowed awards upon outstanding athletes, including three students from Dong A University. In particular, Nguyen Anh Tho, a fourth-year student majoring in Chinese Language & Culture, earned the title of 2nd Runner-up for Outstanding Female. Nguyen Tran Bao Tran, a third-year Nursing student, was acknowledged as the Outstanding Female Libero. Additionally, Pham Ngoc Phuc, a third-year student studying Business Administration, was honored with the title of Male Volleyball Athlete.
In its second iteration, the competition has garnered enthusiastic responses from union members, youth, and university students, as well as individuals serving in the armed forces and affiliated units within the city. This event not only marks a celebration of the youth festival but also provides a valuable platform for team building, skill development, and the enhancement of physical and mental capabilities.
Looking back at the 2022 Volleyball Tournament for Universities, Colleges, and Armed Forces Affiliated with Da Nang City, students from Dong A University achieved noteworthy success. They secured the Second Prize in Men's Volleyball, and the Consolation Prize in Women's Volleyball, and received three individual awards.
