- Achieving Japanese language proficiency: Throughout 4 years of studying, students will improve their Japanese proficiency by learning from native Japanese speakers while developing their soft skills by participating in Japanese language clubs, University sponsored Japanese speaking contests and research projects with our Japanese partner institutions . Students are expected to reach N2 JLPT by the end of their fourth year as well as having a deep understanding of Japanese culture.
- Flexible career paths: The skills learned in the main career path of becoming a Japanese translator can also allow students to branch out to a multitude of other professions including Japanese teachers, secretaries, tour guides, education consultants and more.
- Gain work experience while you study: From their second year onwards, many paths of gaining work experience are open to our students. Students are able to work at a Japanese firm for up to 6 months. Alternatively, students also have the option of taking a 1 year internship abroad in Japan.
