On May 18, the 2024 Japan Job Fair at Dong A University—the ninth annual event—took place at the university.
Alongside the 16th Job Fair of 2024, the Japan Job Fair is organized just before the graduation ceremony, contributing to the expansion of international job opportunities for students across various fields, in addition to the vibrant job network with domestic partner enterprises.
The 2024 Japan Job Fair at Dong A University saw participation from representatives of the Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang, city leaders, business associations, Japanese companies, and numerous candidates who are students studying Japanese at the university.
With 714 job openings from 21 companies offering direct and online recruitment, the 2024 Japan Job Fair set records for both the number of participating companies and the variety of job positions compared to previous editions of the fair.
"As of the end of 2023, Dong A University has sent 550 students to internships and jobs in companies in Japan. In just the first two quarters of 2024, the university has continued to send 133 students to Japan for internships and official work. Many of these students, after their internships in Japan, are now key personnel in Vietnamese companies and Japanese-invested companies in Vietnam. This is a concrete and meaningful contribution to our strategy of collaboration in training and employment with Japan that Dong A University has been promoting for many years," said Mr. Luong Minh Sam, Chairman of the University Council.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Shimonishi Kiyoshi, Deputy Consul General of Japan in Da Nang, noted, "Dong A University has been focusing on Japanese language training, with many students studying Japanese at the university. Participating in the Japan Job Fair today shows that students are also interested in working in Japan, and Japanese companies will gain valuable insights."
Currently, about 350,000 Vietnamese people are working in Japan as technical interns and specialized trainees. With the Japan-Vietnam relationship upgraded to a "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership," the best relationship ever, it is hoped that students will find suitable jobs in Japan, becoming a bridge between the two countries.
During the Japan Job Fair 2024, Dong A University also signed three additional cooperation documents with Japanese business partners regarding training, internship programs, and job placements in Japan for students in Information Technology, Tourism, Japanese Language, Business Administration, and more.
This collaboration not only increases the university's network of partners in Japan to over 120 entities but also enhances career experience and job opportunities for students in partner organizations in Japan, with plans to accept between 10 to 20 students from each organization annually.
Additionally, Japanese partners offered scholarships totaling over 530 million VND to students of Dong A University. Specifically, 49 scholarships were awarded to students participating in a one-year internship program and official work with partners such as Aijinkai Social Health Group, Asai, and Sun Frontier in 2024 and 2025. The Japanese corporate scholarship fund for Dong A University students has been maintained for many years, with total scholarship values reaching billions of VND each year.
As part of the Japan Job Fair 2024, alongside lively candidate interviews in recruitment rooms, a special session titled "Tips for conquering the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT)" was held for students studying Japanese.
Following the Japan Job Fair 2024, in May and June 2024, six more Japanese companies will participate in interviews for student internships and job placements starting in 2025.
Earlier, on April 12, Dong A University also held its 16th annual Job Fair in 2024, with 72 companies participating in interviews for 6,510 job positions for students, attracting over 3,000 registrations and interviews.
