On June 9, Mr. YAKABE Yoshinori - Head of Japanese Consulate Office in Da Nang paid a working visit to Dong A University.
This is the first time Mr. YAKABE Yoshinori has visited a university in Central Vietnam since his inauguration earlier this year. The visit has ushered in more chances for networking, cultural exchange, language learning and job opportunities for Dong A University students.
Mr. YAKABE Yoshinori was accompanied by Mr. ANDO Toshiki - Director of the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam (Japan Foundation in Vietnam) and Mr. MATSUDA Yuuki - Deputy Secretary of Cultural Department, Embassy of Japan in Vietnam.
At the meeting, the two sides discussed on cooperating, facilitating Japanese language teaching & learning programs, supporting Dong A University students to work in Japan as well as assisting and coordinating to organize more annual Japan - Vietnam cultural exchange events at Dong A University.
As a result of numerous extensive cooperation between Dong A University and Japanese business partners & localities, Dong A University is a prestigious Japanese language training institution where thousands of students have chosen to study at, especially Japanese major students that has been increasing in number over time (more than 2,000 students). Mr. YAKABE expressed his expectation that Dong A University students will progress to reach N3 level of Japanese language proficiency before coming to Japan for internships and working based on the current training standard at N4-level Japanese proficiency. At the same time, the inauguration of the Japanese Language and Culture Department of Dong A University and the bachelor degree Japanese Language teaching programs started from 2020 are expected to provide high quality human resources to meet the rising needs of recruitment of Japanese enterprises investing in Vietnam.
As Head of Japanese Consulate Office in Da Nang, Mr. YAKABE is willing to link and strengthen the cooperation between Dong A University and Japanese partners, to provide information on new laws and policies of Japanese government related to work and internship of international students in Japan.
