On March 19, the signing ceremony of the training cooperation for the Bachelor of Nursing program between Dong A University (Da Nang) and Satakunta University of Applied Sciences, Finland (SAMK) took place online.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam in Finland, representatives of the Department of Health of Da Nang and associated units in the area of nursing and healthcare at control units.

This is the first “1 + 3” international training program between Dong A University and a university in Finland. This cooperation is an effort to increase access for Vietnamese students to Europe's quality nursing international program, providing students with a good degree of expertise and a strong English foundation, a modern learning environment, with access to top quality healthcare in the world. After graduation, students will have the opportunity to work in Finland and European countries or return to Vietnam to develop their careers and contribute to the development of the nursing industry.
To start the signing ceremony, Dr. Jari Multisilta - President of SAMK University said: “Finland and Vietnam share the same goal that is to provide high-quality education to young people having professional skills to contribute to the community success and prosperity. The goal of nursing education is conduct training in healthcare careers, allowing students to work as an expert in different areas of health care, e.g. in primary health care, hospital, private services, third sector organizations or as an entrepreneur. Finnish nursing degree is highly valued and provides good opportunities for working and being employed also internationally.”
Attending the signing ceremony of cooperation between Dong A University and SAMK University online from Helsinki (Finland), Ms. Dang Thi Hai Tam - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam in Finland said: “This cooperation program is a typical proof of the transition from purely theoretical cooperation of the two countries to a practical solution for the labor market. The bachelor training in nursing program is a new and sustainable way to recruit human resources for the health sector in Finland (compared with the solutions that Japan and Germany have implemented in this industry in Vietnam so far). The Embassy hopes that this program will be extended to more universities in Vietnam to meet the demand of recruiting 100,000 nurses over the next five years in Finland.”
Ms. Dang Thi Hai Tam simultaneously encouraged to create an information channel for the Vietnamese nursing community in Finland which is a tool to provide and share all information about careers, on the one hand, help Vietnamese nurses integrate into the working environment in Finland, on the other hand can support information for students while studying this program.
MA. Luong Minh Sam - President and Vice Rector of Dong A University said: “As for Nursing, Dong A University has cooperated with Japanese partners for more than 10 years in terms of training programs, internships and working in Japan with many students working in Japanese hospitals and medical facilities. Nursing is also the first major cooperating with the Caritas Nursing Association in Germany for students to participate in the internship on the principle that the German states recognize the Nursing training program and accept students from Dong A University to Germany to work immediately after graduation. In this cooperation, the cooperation program will be in the direction of “1 + 3” in the early years, then change to “2 + 2” and parallel programs, increasing the advantages for students in the domestic and international job market.”
Previously, on March 12, the signing ceremony in the training program concession of Bachelor of Economics in 5 majors between Dong A University and Liverpool John Moores University (UK) was also held online. In 2021, Dong A University also reached cooperation agreements with prestigious universities in the US, notably the Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Business Administration programs under the Lincoln University program (US) and “1 + 3” associate training program of bachelor specialized in Business Administration, Computer Science with Angelo State University (US).
