Dong A University Completes Official Survey for Program Quality Assessment

After six days of urgent, serious, responsible, and effective work by the evaluation experts along with faculty, staff, and students, Dong A University concluded the official survey for external evaluation on July 24.

On November 20, 2023, Dong A University received the decision and certificate for the second cycle of educational quality accreditation, achieving 99 out of 111 criteria, which is 89.2% of the standards set by the Ministry of Education and Training. The university was particularly praised in two areas of quality assurance: strategic management and system management, with 100% of the standards meeting requirements.
From July 19 to July 24, an external evaluation team from the Center for Educational Quality Accreditation at Hanoi National University conducted an official survey of eight educational programs, including undergraduate programs in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Nursing, Tourism and Travel Management, Economic Law, Information Technology, Automotive Engineering, and a Master's program in Business Administration.
The opening ceremony was held on July 19 in collaboration with the Center for Educational Quality Accreditation.


External Evaluation Team Conducts Official Survey at Dong A University


During the evaluation period, the external evaluation team conducted a thorough review of documentation, interviewed and discussed with six relevant groups both inside and outside the university, worked directly with faculty responsible for the evaluated programs, surveyed stakeholder opinions, and inspected the facilities supporting the programs to assess their compliance with quality standards.

At the closing session on July 24, the external evaluation team presented the preliminary results of the survey.
Participants included Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien, Director of the Center for Educational Quality Accreditation, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quy Thanh, Head of the evaluation team, and other members. From Dong A University, Mr. Luong Minh Sam, Chairman of the University Council, Dr. Do Trong Tuan, Permanent Vice Rector, and members of the administration, self-assessment council, and faculty of evaluated programs were present.
On behalf of the evaluation team, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quy Thanh expressed gratitude for the warm welcome, well-prepared documentation, and thorough logistical support.
The evaluation team highlighted specific strengths and weaknesses and provided recommendations for the university to improve educational quality. The team commended the university's modern approach to program development, focusing on general and specialized competencies, and praised the flexibility of specific skill modules for students. In addition to ensuring the faculty meets program requirements, the university has made significant investments in facilities and resources for training and research. Notably, Dong A University emphasizes organizing training and educational activities that enhance students' knowledge, skills, and ethics, maintaining a high employment rate for graduates.

The team also made recommendations for Dong A University to improve educational quality moving forward, such as modularizing programs and aligning them with competency frameworks, diversifying classroom assessment methods, ensuring program structure integration, and aiming for a more holistic approach.
On behalf of the university leadership, Dr. Do Trong Tuan sincerely thanked the external evaluation team for their comprehensive and objective assessments. He stressed that quality evaluation and accreditation are among the university's most important tasks. This occasion is significant for Dong A University to leverage its strengths, address existing gaps, and find practical solutions to reaffirm its value to society. The university is committed to promptly implementing plans to address any limitations under the team's recommendations and to continue improving quality in the future.
Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien from the Center for Educational Quality Accreditation acknowledged and thanked the evaluation team for their responsible, objective, and fair work. She also expressed gratitude to the university and the various units involved in the evaluation process, emphasizing their proactive and collaborative efforts, which contributed significantly to the success of the survey. She expressed hope that the university would implement appropriate solutions to further enhance the quality of its programs, following the recommendations presented by the evaluation team.
At the conclusion of the official survey for external evaluation, representatives from the evaluation team, the Center, and Dong A University signed a record of completion for the official survey of the university's educational programs.
