On November 15 and 16, the Yokohama city council delegation visited and worked at Dong A University. Aside from discussions with the Board of Directors, the delegation visited the Dong A University campus and participated in a Japanese language minor class

On their first day of arrival, November 15, the Yokohama city council delegation, which included Ms. Tanaka Yuki, Mr. Shimizu Yoshinori, and Mr. Koshikata Kayoshi, had a session with the Board of Directors of Dong A University.

In the session, Dong A University and the city council of Yokohama discussed and evaluated the current partnership situation in nursing, which has been in place since August 2018. In response, the two parties signed a memorandum of understanding on internship and employment programs for nursing students at 99 medical centers of the Yokohama Social Welfare Association. Since the collaboration, Yokohama City has organized and directly handled the reception of Nursing students in addition to supporting them with accommodation, living expenses, Japanese language scholarships, and cultural exchange programs.

Dr. Ngo Quang Vinh, Vice Rector of Dong A University, represented the Board of Directors in discussions with the Yokohama city council delegation for potential collaboration development. Aside from nursing, the university intends to engage with the city of Yokohama in other sectors, including automotive engineering, food technology, and the Japanese language – all of which have experienced significant growth in the number of students traveling to Japan for internship and employment in recent years. He also mentioned that five Dong A University students would travel to Japan at the end of November to intern and work at the Sheraton Hotel in Yokohama City.

Dr. Ngo Quang Vinh also expressed his desire that, in addition to enhancing Japanese language training programs for Vietnamese students, Japanese individuals adapt to Vietnamese culture to establish a more intimate working environment.

On the afternoon of November 16, three members of the Yokohama City Council visited the Dong A University campus and participated in a Japanese language minor class.

The visits and working sessions of Yokohama City Council members at Dong A University this time enhanced the bilateral relationship by seeking more internship and work opportunities for students from various sectors in Yokohama City.
