1. Introduction

Since its foundation in 1927, Shibaura Institute of Technology has pursued its founding mission of fostering hands-on engineers, being able to learn and contribute to society, and work to cultivate talent. scientific and technical skills to support the Japanese economy.

In 2014, the university was selected to the top Global University Project of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, which provides priority support to universities to promote internationally through partnerships with universities outside Japan and pursuing world-class research and education. SIT is one of 37 out of 781 universities in Japan selected under the project.
