Dong A University cooperates with Korean Universities to develop human resources in the semiconductor, robotics, and ICT industries

The universities and research institutes in Korea are also the next partners of Dong A University in the network of more than 30 affiliated units for international academic and research cooperation.

On February 23rd, Dong A University signed a cooperation agreement with the aim of workforce development in the semiconductor, robotics, and information and communication technology (ICT) industries with the Gyeongbuk Gyeongsan Institute of Industry-university Convergence (Gyeongsangbuk province) GGIC, Jeju National University, Daegu Catholic University (Korea) and Da Nang Software Entrepreneurs Club (DSEC).
The universities and research institutes in Korea are also the next partners of Dong A University in the network of more than 30 affiliated units for international academic and research cooperation.
Accordingly, Gyeongbuk Gyeongsan Institute of Industry-university Convergence, Daegu Catholic University, Dong A University, and DSEC coordinate in training and job placement activities for highly qualified employees to organizations in Gyeongsangbuk province,... Besides, they promote the exchange and cooperation between enterprises and universities in national projects and research and development (R&D), non-R&D between Korea and Vietnam.
During the cooperation, the signing parties will also provide mutual support in research and technology development, human resources development for the semiconductor, robotics, and ICT industries; organizing business forums and networks focusing on semiconducting, robotic, and ICT fields to build up the industrial ecosystem, thereby strengthening the cooperative bonds between universities and business.
Additionally, the cooperation with Jeju National University and Daegu Catholic University also established the coordination to implement a global joint enterprise cooperation with the participation and exchange of lecturers and students on both sides to develop highly qualified employees; industrial and academic cooperation in the fields of software (SW) and Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
At the same time, the partnership also opens up long-term internship opportunities for Dong A University students in the research laboratories of professors at Jeju National University, Daegu Catholic University, or SW/ICT businesses in these cities. Especially, those who completed global joint enterprise cooperation will have chances to participate in master’s and doctoral degrees. 
During the discussion session, representatives of the signing parties also discussed various orientations of cooperation in these potential fields. According to Mr. Bui Ngoc Vinh – President of DSEC, in addition to cooperation among enterprises, cooperation with universities also contributes to opening up the direction of cooperation in training highly qualified employees in this field for the locality,  providing the opportunity to welcome a wave of investment in the semiconductor industry. IT enterprises in the Danang are also expecting the participation of universities, including Dong A University, in training and providing high-quality human resources who serve as bridge software engineers for IT companies and DSEC subsidiary companies in Da Nang when undertaking collaborative projects in Korea.”
According to Mr. Luong Minh Sam - President of Dong A University Council, IT, and the Korean language will be a bridge to promote cooperation between Vietnam and Korea. To promote this cooperation, Dong A University is building an IT teaching project for Korean Language students or teaching Korean to IT students. Prof. Bong-hwan Kim, dean of the Semiconductor Department at Daegu Catholic University, shared information about the model of a university’s training institute located within a business. He expressed that the university is prepared to offer free training courses for Dong A University lecturers and students in the semiconductor field.
In 2024, Dong A University will also promote cooperation in training and research in the field of semiconductors and AI with universities in developed countries. Previously, on February 22, Dong A University collaborated with Minh Tan University of Science and Technology (Taiwan, China) to promote collaboration in the fields of electronics and semiconductor training programs. The two institutions have partnered on a master’s program for talented students majoring in IT and Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology starting in 2022. It is also the first master’s program between Dong A University and a university in Taiwan
In addition, Dong A University also has cooperation in training, research, exchange of lecturers and students, and vocational internship programs for students in various fields with Chien Hsin University of Science and Technology, Hoa Van University, and Ho Chi Minh City University of Science and Technology.
