On November 24, Dong A University and Konan University in Japan formally signed a memorandum of understanding to expand learning opportunities for students and promote academic research for instructors.
Following Wakayama National University and Kokugakuin University, Konan is the third Japanese university to sign an agreement for cooperation with Dong A University in 2023. It is also the next key partner in a network of more than 20 foreign universities and research institutes that collaborate on training and research with Dong A University.
Under the terms of this agreement, the two universities will carry out specialized collaboration in student and lecturer exchange, as well as academic exchange. As part of the student exchange program, Konan University will accept Dong A University students for graduate programs at Konan University in Japan; Konan University students will also have the opportunity to intern at Dong A University in Vietnam. Furthermore, Japanese volunteers from Konan University were assigned to Dong A University to teach language and culture.
Since the workshop on Vietnam - Japan relations was held by Dong A University in the central city of Da Nang in July 2023, Leaders from the two universities have promoted significant sessions in Da Nang to analyze potential partnership strategies. Both sides regard this partnership agreement as a critical first step in a set of comprehensive cooperation strategies.
Konan University is well-known as the largest educational institute in Kobe. 2,500 Konan University graduates are presidents and directors of major enterprises and leading Japanese corporations. Konan students have an employment rate of 98.7% after graduation.
