2024 – A "Pivotal" Year for Acceleration
As 2024 marks the closing of a decade of acceleration, the community of Dong A University remains diligent and committed in teaching, learning, research, and activities to welcome 2025, ready to "surpass thresholds" with even more "signals" in its mission of training human resources, serving society, and international integration.
Standards of Scale and Quality
In 2024, Dong A University added 8 accredited training programs and completed quality assessments for 11 additional programs, raising the total number of accredited programs to over 51% (compared to the minimum requirement of 35% by 2025 according to the Ministry of Education and Training). Additionally, the university successfully completed quality accreditation for educational institutions in two consecutive cycles: 2012-2017 and 2018-2023, demonstrating meticulousness and thoroughness in its long-term development strategy.
As part of its long-term goals towards 2030 and the vision for 2045, 2024 was chosen as the "pivotal" year to kick off projects that enhance the international learning and practical environment for students. This includes the construction of Building B at the campus on 33 Xô Viết Nghệ Tĩnh and the establishment of a Japanese-standard international clinic.
With a beautiful campus and modern functionality, Dong A University has also become a "destination" for prestigious national and regional exams, alongside hosting dynamic events and activities involving more than 500 student-led initiatives. Starting in 2024, the university will serve as the host for the monthly HSK exam in Da Nang and is also a leading location for the TOPIK test nationwide. Furthermore, it co-hosts the national finals of the Japanese speech contest, the 7th JLAN-Test Cup, and the 3rd Korean Speaking Contest organized by the Consulate General of South Korea in Da Nang.
Expanding Cooperation and Employment
In 2024, the number of students going abroad for internships and job opportunities has significantly increased. Specifically, 276 students are participating in study, internship, and work programs in countries such as Japan, South Korea, Singapore, China, Taiwan, Germany, and the United States.
By the end of 2024, over 800 students across 20 training disciplines in economics, engineering, health, and languages from Dong A University will have gained professional experience through internships and official work programs. The scale of international partners has expanded to over 150 companies as of this point.
2024 also marks an impressive start in developing human resources in the strategic semiconductor industry, with high-tech human resource training agreements signed with Ming Chuan University (Taiwan) and collaborations with various institutions in South Korea for the semiconductor, robotics, and ICT sectors.
Vibrant Achievements and Awards
In 2024, Dong A University students demonstrated outstanding efforts and achieved remarkable results in 24 national and international competitions, winning 52 high-ranking awards.
For instance, the Korean language students won first place in the 28th K-Speech World Competition held in Laos, and students from the Japanese Language and Culture Department excelled in the national Japanese speech contest.
Additionally, the university has been recognized for its contributions to community service, receiving numerous awards for its voluntary blood donation activities and various scholarships aimed at supporting underprivileged students.
With continuous improvement and effective innovation in higher education, Dong A University seeks to become a prestigious institution in Vietnam and Asia, contributing significantly to community development and preparing students for global integration.
