Huỳnh Thị Thu Thùy – sinh viên năm 4 Khoa Ngôn ngữ & Văn hóa Hàn Quốc Đại học Đông Á – đã giành giải Khuyến khích tại Cuộc thi Nói tiếng Hàn Cúp Đại sứ Hàn Quốc 2026 diễn ra tại Hà Nội. Đáng chú ý, Thu Thùy là đại diện duy nhất đến từ nhóm các trường khu vực miền Trung được vinh danh ở hạng mục dành cho sinh viên Cao đẳng – Đại học tại cuộc thi năm nay.
Ngày 22/8 vừa qua, vòng Bán kết khu vực phía Bắc Cuộc thi Nói tiếng Hàn Cúp Đại sứ Hàn Quốc 2026 đã diễn ra tại Trường Hàn Quốc Hà Nội, với sự tranh tài của 39 thí sinh xuất sắc đến từ các trường đại học, cao đẳng, phổ thông và Học viện King Sejong khu vực miền Bắc và miền Trung Việt Nam.
Với đề tài hùng biện “Tình yêu không phải là vì thế - nên, mà là dù vậy - vẫn”, Huỳnh Thị Thu Thùy - sinh viên Khóa 23 Khoa Ngôn ngữ & Văn hoá Hàn Quốc, trường Đại học Đông Á, đã mang đến phần trình bày đầy cảm xúc, qua đó giành giải Khuyến khích chung cuộc.
Chia sẻ về lý do chọn đề tài này, Thu Thuỳ cho biết: “Trong thời gian học tập tại Đại học Đông Á, em đã từng nghe giảng viên của mình chia sẻ về câu nói này. Em đã rất ấn tượng với góc nhìn đầy nhân văn ấy và đã học được cách nhìn nhận thế giới bằng một ánh mắt ấm áp hơn. Em nhận ra tình yêu thực sự hay cuộc sống không phải lúc nào cũng là những điều hoàn hảo, mà là biết thấu hiểu ngay cả khi vẫn còn những thiếu sót. Em muốn chọn chính câu nói ấy để lan tỏa thông điệp ấm áp này đến mọi người”.
Với Thu Thùy, giải Khuyến khích tại cuộc thi lần này không chỉ là một thành tích đơn thuần, đó còn là “quả ngọt” từ những lần mạnh dạn bước ra khỏi vùng an toàn trước đó. Tham gia nhiều cuộc thi và hoạt động trong và ngoài nhà trường như Cuộc thi nói tiếng Hàn, Trại hè Keimyung 2025,… Thùy từng bước tích lũy kinh nghiệm, rèn khả năng ngoại ngữ và sự tự tin khi đứng trước đám đông. Và khi được thầy cô trong Khoa Ngôn ngữ & Văn hóa Hàn Quốc khích lệ tham gia cuộc thi này, Thùy tiếp tục chọn thử sức dù ban đầu vẫn còn khá lo lắng, rụt rè. Và, lần trải nghiệm này đã mang về một kết quả đáng nhớ.
Đằng sau thành tích ấy là 2 tháng miệt mài chuẩn bị và tập luyện cùng các giảng viên Khoa Ngôn ngữ & Văn hóa Hàn Quốc. Thu Thùy chia sẻ: “Từ việc góp ý nội dung bài nói, chỉnh sửa cách diễn đạt, phát âm, ngữ điệu tiếng Hàn sao cho tự nhiên nhất đến cách trình bày và thể hiện cảm xúc trước đám đông, dù rất bận rộn nhưng thầy cô vẫn dành thời gian đồng hành và động viên em”. Với Thùy, chính sự quan tâm, kiên nhẫn và hỗ trợ của thầy cô là một trong những yếu tố quan trọng nhất giúp cô bạn tự tin thể hiện tốt trong cuộc thi lần này.
Kết quả mà Thu Thùy có được đã nối dài bảng thành tích của Thầy và Trò Khoa Ngôn ngữ và Văn hoá Hàn Quốc và Đại học Đông Á tại sân chơi uy tín bậc nhất do Đại sứ quán Hàn Quốc tại Việt Nam tổ chức. Trước đó, Hồ Nguyễn Ngọc Phong và Dương Khánh Ly – cựu sinh viên Khoa Ngôn ngữ và Văn hoá Hàn Quốc Đại học Đông Á cũng đã xuất sắc mang về giải Ba và giải Khuyến Khích tại Vòng Bán kết cuộc thi diễn ra vào các năm 2025 và 2023.
Những thành tích trên không chỉ ghi nhận sự nỗ lực và năng lực của cá nhân mà còn cho thấy hiệu quả của chương trình đào tạo gắn với thực tiễn tại Đại học Đông Á. Và hơn hết, đằng sau mỗi thành quả của sinh viên là sự đồng hành sát sao của giảng viên và sự chủ động, tận tâm trong việc tạo điều kiện để sinh viên liên tục thử sức, tích lũy trải nghiệm và từng bước ứng dụng kiến thức, kỹ năng từ giảng đường vào các sân chơi học thuật trong nước và quốc tế.

Korean Language Student of Dong A University Extends Winning Streak at 2026 Ambassador's Cup Korean Speech Contest
Huynh Thi Thu Thuy, a fourth-year student from the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture at Dong A University, won an Encouragement Prize at the 2026 Ambassador's Cup Korean Speech Contest in Hanoi. Notably, Thu Thuy was the only representative from universities in Central Vietnam to receive an award in the college and university student category this year.
On August 22, the Northern Regional Semifinal of the 2026 Korean Speech Contest for the Korean Ambassador’s Cup took place at the Korean International School in Hanoi, bringing together 39 outstanding contestants from universities, colleges, high schools and King Sejong Institutes in northern and central Vietnam.
With the speech topic “Love is not because of that, but in spite of that,” Huynh Thi Thu Thuy, a K23 student from the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture at Dong A University, delivered an emotional presentation and won an Encouragement Prize in the competition.
Explaining why she chose the topic, Thu Thuy shared: “During my studies at Dong A University, I once heard one of my lecturers share this saying. I was deeply impressed by its humanistic perspective and learned to look at the world with a warmer heart. I realized that true love and life are not always about perfection but about knowing how to understand others even when imperfections remain. I wanted to choose this very saying to share that warm message with everyone.”
For Thu Thuy, the Encouragement Prize was more than simply an achievement. It was the result of the times she had previously challenged herself to step outside her comfort zone. By taking part in various competitions and activities both on and off campus, including Korean speech contests and the 2025 Keimyung Summer Camp, Thuy gradually built up her experience, strengthened her language skills and became more confident speaking in front of an audience. When encouraged by lecturers from the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture to enter this competition, she decided to take on the challenge despite initially feeling nervous and hesitant. This experience ultimately brought her a memorable result.
Behind the achievement were two months of intensive preparation and practice with lecturers from the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture. Thu Thuy shared: “From giving feedback on the content of my speech and refining my expressions, Korean pronunciation and intonation to helping me present and convey emotions naturally in front of an audience, my lecturers still made time to accompany and encourage me despite their busy schedules.” For Thuy, the care, patience and support of her lecturers were among the most important factors that helped her perform confidently at the competition.
Thu Thuy’s achievement has extended the strong track record of lecturers and students from the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture and Dong A University at one of the most prestigious Korean language competitions organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam. Previously, Ho Nguyen Ngoc Phong and Duong Khanh Ly, both alumni of the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture at Dong A University, won Third Prize and an Encouragement Prize respectively at the competition’s semifinals in 2025 and 2023.
These achievements not only recognize the individual efforts and abilities of the students but also demonstrate the effectiveness of Dong A University’s practice-oriented training approach. More importantly, behind every student achievement is the close support of lecturers and the university’s commitment to creating opportunities for students to continually challenge themselves, gain experience and gradually apply the knowledge and skills acquired in the classroom to academic competitions at both national and international levels.
