This was also the 45th voluntary blood donation event organized at Dong A University, attracting nearly 1,000 registrations.
From early morning, a large number of students were present, lining up in an orderly manner to complete procedures, undergo health checks, and donate blood. Many final-year students also made time to participate just before starting their internships and graduation projects.
The Blood Donation Day at Dong A University consistently sees the participation of lecturers, staff, and even police officers, contributing to spreading compassion and inspiring a spirit of kindness and community responsibility among future generations of students.
Participating in blood donation for the eighth time, Dr. Nguyen The Cong, Deputy Head of the Office of Academic Affairs and Student Services at Dong A University, shared:
“Each time I donate blood is another moment of happiness, knowing that I can help patients in need of blood for treatment, while also contributing to and amplifying the culture of responsibility among students and lecturers through such a meaningful activity.”
Among the long line of donors at the 45th event was a familiar face—Mr. Pham Van Duong, a lecturer at Dong A University—who has donated blood 17 times. Having previously served as Secretary of the University Youth Union, he shared:
“Over the years, voluntary blood donation has truly become a festival of compassion and sharing, a journey of community responsibility for both faculty and students at Dong A University, with 14,744 units of blood collected through 45 events. In addition, students maintain the meaningful ‘Living Blood Bank’ initiative, providing hundreds of rare blood units promptly to support emergency medical treatment.”
The 45th Blood Donation Day was organized by the Dong A University Youth Union in collaboration with the Da Nang Youth Union and Da Nang Hospital. It was also part of activities responding to Youth Month 2026 and celebrating the 95th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
