Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong, Director of the Da Nang Department of Science and Technology, emphasized:
“The signing of this cooperation agreement on scientific research, technology transfer, innovation, and digital transformation for the 2026–2030 period is an important task jointly undertaken by the Department and Dong A University to concretize Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, and national digital transformation, in which Da Nang is expected to become one of the top three leading cities in the country in research and development, digital transformation, and innovation.”
He also noted:
“Dong A University has a strong tradition in scientific research, teaching, and training high-quality human resources for the Central – Central Highlands region, making significant contributions to Da Nang as well as other localities. In recent years, the University has worked closely with the Department in implementing scientific research tasks and projects, many of which have achieved high quality and positive outcomes, contributing to the development of the city’s science and technology sector and its socio-economic growth. In addition, the University has collaborated with the Department to bring scientific research programs closer to students.”
Mr. Luong Minh Sam, Chairman of the University Council of Dong A University, stated:
“The core of this cooperation framework is to strengthen the connection between academic knowledge and the practical development needs of the city, by orienting research topics—especially applied research—towards addressing urgent urban and regional issues in the Central – Central Highlands. On that basis, both sides aim to promote the formation and development of an innovation ecosystem originating from the university environment, supported by resources, expert and enterprise connections, effective use of intellectual infrastructure, intellectual property protection, and commercialization of research results. At the same time, the cooperation sets a long-term goal of nurturing and developing young researchers, enabling students to engage in scientific research in a systematic and professional manner, thereby forming a high-quality workforce ready to contribute to development.”
Accordingly, the cooperation between Dong A University and the Da Nang Department of Science and Technology for the 2026–2030 period reflects a convergence of vision and development orientation between a state management agency in science and technology and a higher education institution oriented toward research and application, while establishing a collaborative framework based on complementary strengths.
Specifically, the cooperation will be implemented through activities in scientific research, application, development and technology transfer, innovation, high-tech and strategic technology development, and strengthening science and technology capacity. In developing the innovation and startup ecosystem, both sides will also collaborate to develop the Dong A Innovation and Startup Center under Dong A University to support intellectual property commercialization, technology transfer, and the development of innovative startup projects and enterprises; and to establish shared laboratory systems supporting research and development and strategic technologies.
At the same time, the two sides will coordinate in implementing innovation and startup activities within the university, including training and capacity building programs for lecturers; mentoring for innovation and startup initiatives; development of student startup projects; coaching potential projects; and organizing innovation and startup competitions.
