Dong A University establishes Legal Practice Center

On March 26, Dong A University held the launch ceremony of the Legal Practice Center, marking a milestone in innovating legal education at the University, and signed a cooperation agreement with an enterprise on training and practice for law students.

Speaking at the launch, Lawyer - Dr. Luu Binh Duong, Director of the Legal Practice Center at Dong A University, stated: “The activities of a legal practice center within a university play an important role in narrowing the gap between the classroom and justice, while also aiming to serve the community through free legal consultation. Equipped with a moot courtroom and a legal practice office, the Center is expected not only to be a functional unit but also a solid ‘training ground’ for law students at Dong A University to move from theoretical knowledge to practical application. This is where knowledge is transformed into skills, turning ‘law learners’ into ‘legal practitioners’.”
He further added: “The Legal Practice Center at Dong A University also opens up a development space, allowing students to experience a professional working environment similar to that of a real law office or law firm. Students do not have to ‘wait’ until graduation to practice their profession; instead, they can engage in professional practice right within the university. In addition, the Center serves as a platform for professional exchange, connecting students with a network of lawyers and leading experts. Through direct mentorship sessions, students can learn the mindset of a judge, the sharpness of a lawyer, and the ethics of a legal professional.”.
As part of the program, students from the Faculty of Law organized a mock trial on the topic of “Disputes over labor disciplinary actions in the form of dismissal”—a practice-based activity that helps students transform fragmented experiences into systematic professional competence.
The mock trial was conducted as a simulation of a civil court proceeding, with students directly assuming the roles of participants in the litigation process. Through this format, students experienced courtroom procedures firsthand, thereby reinforcing legal knowledge and developing professional skills such as case file analysis, litigation skills, legal reasoning, handling practical situations, and presenting arguments before a panel of judges..
At the same time, the mock trial also served as a channel connecting students with lecturers and guest lawyers through direct feedback and guidance on litigation techniques, courtroom management, and the application of legal provisions in specific cases, helping students refine advanced skills and better bridge theory and professional practice.
Having participated in mobile court sessions organized at the university and mock trials during the course, Dang Thuy Tram, a second-year student majoring in Economic Law at Dong A University, shared:
“Participating in the preparation and practice of mock trials requires constant quick thinking to respond to real-time situations. Along with observing actual court proceedings and participating in professional internships at courts, these are invaluable ‘hands-on practices’ in the learning journey of law students, helping enhance professional competence and adaptability when entering the real working environment after graduation.”
The program also featured a signing ceremony for cooperation on training and practice between Dong A University and Kim Trọng Hùng Limited Liability Law Company—Da Nang branch.
The program also included the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement on training and practice between Dong A University and Kim Trong Hung Law Firm LLC – Da Nang Branch.
The cooperation focuses on strengthening collaboration in curriculum development, scientific research, and student support, aiming to effectively leverage resources, improve the quality of legal human resources, and create opportunities for students to access real professional environments, undertake internships, and secure employment at enterprises after graduation.
