Strong work ethic and social responsibility are two main components of the outcome for graduates of Dong A University. Community service and response to outcries in Vietnam are hallmarks of the students at Dong A University. Many of the organizations are also set up, coordinated and governed by the students with minimal management by the Dong A University administration except for supporting and encouraging the students.
There are many academic activities: the English Club, the club for Informatics students, inviting guest lecturers like Cao Minh, a popular musician, contests to seek for the best team leader, public speaking, providing assistance to high school students and their families who have to travel to Danang City to take the national examination and organizing Environmental Protection contests. In fact, many of the activities that are classified as social activities have an academic component, arise from classes and many times reflect the prevailing environmental philosophy at Dong A University. These includes: holding informational sessions on protection the community from HIV, supporting the families of dead soldiers and heroic Vietnamese mothers like Nguyen Thi Thu, cleaning sewers, streets and waging campaigns to urge people to protect the environment. Students actively support victims of Agent Orange, disabled children, youngsters from poor families by collecting clothes, textbooks, notebooks and money.
